Come for a tour of Ziraldo Alpacas!
A couple came for a tour of the farm today as part of their 7th Anniversary celebration. We were honoured. They took lots of pictures and left with some cozy alpaca socks, insoles and thrum mittens. Remember, we are always pleased to have farm visitors, by appointment. Give us a call !

Ziraldo Alpaca Products at Fanshawe Pioneer...
I am pleased to announce that Ziraldo Alpaca products will now be available for sale from June to October 2011 at the Denfield General Store, Fanshawe Pioneer Village, London, Ontario. Ziraldo Alpacas - Lady Luck has hatched 16...
Lady Luck has a family of 16 now. That is one busy momma! They blend in well with the dandelions.
Ziraldo Alpacas - "Destiny" - is 11 days old!
Destiny is enjoying a sunny day, finally. So are the dandelions apparently!
Ziraldo Alpacas "Lady Luck" is sitting on eggs!
“Lady Luck”, our Muscovy Duck, has been sitting on 12-14 eggs for 2 1/2 weeks now. Incubation takes 35 days, so we should see some ducklings in about 2 weeks. Muscovy Ducks are a large duck which is native to Mexico, Central and South America. No wonder they get along so well with our alpacas! Ziraldo's Destiny - first cria of the season
At 12:20 p.m. Lil’ Miss Muffet gave birth to a lovely pure white little girl. She was standing up and trying to nurse within the hour. “Destiny” weighs 18 lbs. It was a perfect spring day to be born on - warm and sunny.

Stocked up on socks!
We just got in a nice selection of relaxed fit alpaca socks. These socks come in a variety of colours and sizes: S, M, L & XL. They are really soft and warm and are suitable for people with diabetes and circulation problems. They are comfortable and “relaxed” at the top but still manage to stay up.
Once you try a pair you will be in love! These socks are wonderful for gifts as well. Price...

The weather outside is frightful, but alpaca is so...

Thamesford Craft Originals - Craft Show
Next Saturday, Oct 30th, I will have my alpaca products at Thamesford Craft Originals, Westminster United Church, 115 George Street, Thamesford. The show hours are 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. It is FREE admission and is a really nice, small craft show. You can buy a tasty soup & sandwich lunch at the church. Nancy Abra will also have her unique jams, herbal jellies and savoury chutnies at the show.
Country Creations Artisan Tour - 2nd Annual
Our Artisan Tour, held this past Sat. & Sun., was a huge success! The many visitors said that they really enjoyed themselves, commenting on the nice variety of artisans and the ease at which they found their way around. Thanks to all of you who attended! New Addition - Luna
Meet our new pup, Luna, who arrived at Ziraldo Alpacas on August 30, 2010.
Luna is a Maremma/Great Pyrenees Livestock Protection Dog. These breeds have been used for centuries to guard flocks of sheep from predators in Italy and France. Luna will be a working dog on the farm and when she is old enough and trained we hope she will protect our alpacas, chickens and ducks from predators such as...

Panettone
Meet our fourth cria sired by Shaman , Panettone, born on June 18, 2010. Panettone’s mom is Soakee who has always delivered white cria. Needless to say we were surprised when she delivered this lovely dark brown male. He is named after one of our favourite traditional Italian treats, Panettone, a delicious fruit bread available at Christmas time.
